How to Prepare for Your Wedding Video Shoot - Tips for Introverted Couples

It’s totally normal to feel uncomfortable getting in front of a camera - modeling is hard! And just because it’s your wedding day, doesn’t mean you’re suddenly going to be a pro. Here’s some tips I give to couples based on my experiences filming weddings, and just being an introvert myself.

Communicate with your videographer:

Before your shoot, have a conversation with your videographer about any concerns you may have. Let them know if you're nervous or uncomfortable with certain poses or camera angles. A good videographer will listen to your concerns and work with you to make you feel more comfortable. Simply airing these concerns is enough to start easing your nerves.

Take a moment to breathe:

Wedding days can be hectic so it’s important to take a moment before or during your portrait session to just stop, breathe, and experience the moment with your significant other. Lowering your heart rate and calming your nervous system will allow you both to feel much more at ease and flow through the process of capturing your beautiful photos and videos.

Trust your vendors and let go:

There’s no point in worrying about how you look. That’s your photographer and videographer's job! If you can put your trust into the experience and expertise of your vendors, you’ll be less anxious, and more energy will be available to be present with your partner.

Focus on each other:

Remember that the most important part of your wedding day is your love for each other. Try to focus on each other and the moment, rather than the camera. Your videographer will capture your love story as it naturally unfolds, and the more you can relax and be yourselves, the better your wedding video will be.
