About me,

Mana Bennett.

I’m a filmmaker, photographer and musician from the South West of Western Australia.

I’ve always loved being creative, whether that was getting lost in imaginary worlds as a kid, drawing, writing or in music. But when I first discovered the joy of capturing images on cameras, I was in love with it.

Starting with videos from family snowboarding trips to Japan and re-enactments of favourite movies with my sister, I fell in love with transforming ideas and stories into video and sound. This passion has grown into a deep-seated love for photography, filmmaking, and the creative arts.

Some people have a certain activity or practice they escape to when they need to recharge, and for me, this is often found in the company of a camera or creative project. I’m so grateful to be able to do what fulfils me, while creating the some of the most valuable records of people’s lives at the same time.

My Approach To Filming Weddings

Every person I’ve ever met has had their own unique expression of life...

Which is why templates or boxes have never worked for me.
______________________________

When I create a film it’s a clean slate every time, considering each couple’s personalities, interests, and above all, their story.

On the Day,

I’ll be there, but not there. I’ll know when to step in - and when to let moments play out undisturbed.

So what you remember are the authentic & real moments, not something staged or forced.

I value your experience on the day above all else. It’s a real shame when the moment is robbed by unnecessary stress or pressure, so I always keep this in mind when working with you on your wedding day.

Outside of Weddings…

I love to create narrative, documentary & experimental style films.

I’ve always been a lover of cinema, and ever since I figured out I could make movies myself there’s been no stopping me. I love films that make you think twice, & get even better the second time around…
